In Slovenia it is quite common to give a clock as a 50th birthday present or as a wedding gift. Those clocks are usually wooden with custom engravings that almost always contain either an unfortunate rendering of something connected to the presented or a few lines of cliché lyrics, or both.
Besides that, all contain the one and the always present movement from China that you can buy in every street market between green salad and cauliflower. It turns in clockwise direction, no pun intended.
The aftermath is all these custom made clocks are so common nobody really notices them and they started to make for a bad gift.
It is interesting that we haven’t noticed that, but others obviously have. We’ve had a few requests from very different types of people for the very same thing: the unique Chaotic-Tock.
“No problem,” we said. Because there was none.
